Whether you’re treating yourself, gifting the photos to a loved one, or simply embracing a new experience, proper preparation can make all the difference in ensuring you feel amazing and get stunning results.
This guide takes you through the process of preparing for your boudoir photoshoot in Tenerife, from choosing the perfect outfits to prepping your skin and hair, and even navigating those pre-shoot jitters. Let’s dive in!
Planning your Tenerife Boudoir Photoshoot
When you book a Boudoir Photoshoot in Tenerife with me I’ll send you meeting link to click and select a convenient time for a video call. We’ll want to have a chat about your expectations, desired style, and any concerns you may have in an online planning video call. This will help me tailor the shoot to your needs and ensure we’re both on the same page. It will also give us a chance to get to know each other.
Before our call I’m going to ask you to do 2 things! I’m going to ask you to make a Mood Board and decide if the location of the photoshoot will be at your home, hotel, in the studio or in the great outdoors!
On this initial call we’ll discuss and decide:
- The location of the photoshoot
- The style of poses and the types of images you like
- If we need a hair / makeup stylist
- Any special requirements
Make a mood board
A mood board is easy to make on Pinterest. Simply open a free account at Pinterest and create a “Board” which is a collection of images. Search Pinterest for something like “boudoir poses” and add any images that you like to your board. When you have a good collection of images that you like then share these with me. We won’t take these exact photos but we will use them as inspiration for the photoshoot and talk about them when we have our online planning meeting.
Choose a location for your boudoir photoshoot in Tenerife
When deciding on your photoshoot location, consider these four options, each offering a unique ambiance and set of advantages:
Home Photoshoot
Transform your home into your own personal haven for the shoot! We bring the professional lighting, backdrops, and props to you, but with the added advantages of being surrounded by your own comforts. This means easy access to your full wardrobe, makeup collection, and any personal items you might want to include in your photos. Plus, the familiarity of your own space can help you feel more relaxed and confident, which will shine through in your images.
Hotel Photoshoot
Enjoy the luxury and convenience of a photoshoot in your hotel room! Many of Tenerife’s hotel rooms make a beautiful boudoir setting, bringing all the necessary equipment and creating a relaxing atmosphere. This is a perfect option for those on holiday or who prefer the elegance and privacy of a hotel environment.
Outdoors
It’s not strictly “boudoir” but Tenerife’s beautiful beaches, mountains and forests can bring out your wild side! You don’t need to choose a specific location for your boudoir photoshoot in Tenerife before we meet online but let me know if you would like the outdoors and I’ll help you to make the right choice.
Studio Photoshoot
Studios offer a dedicated space with professional equipment and backdrops. From a photographer’s perspective it is ideal however it may surprise you to know that in Tenerife it is the least popular option.
Once you have made your choice, let us know what suits you so we are prepared! If you choose the outdoors, we can help you to choose the location and drive you there and back too!
Preparing Your Body
Skincare
Radiant skin is key for a flawless boudoir photoshoot. Start a skincare routine a few weeks in advance, focusing on:
- Exfoliation: Gently exfoliate your skin 2-3 times a week to remove dead skin cells and reveal a smoother complexion.
- Moisturise: Keep your skin hydrated by moisturising daily. This will help it look plump and healthy in photos.
- Facials: Consider getting a facial a week or two before the shoot for an extra glow.
Hair Removal
If you prefer smooth skin, plan your hair removal accordingly. Waxing or sugaring should be done a few days before the shoot to avoid any redness or irritation.
Nails
Get a manicure and pedicure a day or two before the shoot. Choose classic colors or neutral tones that complement your outfits.
Choosing Your Outfits
Lingerie
Select lingerie that makes you feel confident and beautiful. Consider different styles, colors, and textures to add variety to your photos.
- Classic: Lace, silk, and satin create a timeless and elegant look.
- Playful: Bold colors, playful patterns, and unique designs add a fun and flirty touch.
- Comfortable: Choose pieces that fit well and allow you to move freely.
Other Outfit Ideas
Don’t limit yourself to just lingerie! Bring a variety of outfits to create different moods and styles.
- Oversized sweaters or shirts: These create a cozy and intimate feel.
- Your partner’s shirt: This adds a personal and playful touch.
- Jewelry and accessories: Enhance your look with statement necklaces, earrings, or bracelets.
- Hosiery and stockings: Add a touch of glamour and sophistication.
- Shoes: Heels, boots, or even barefoot – choose footwear that complements your outfits.
Bring Options
Pack more outfits than you think you’ll need for your boudoir photoshoot in Tenerife. This will give you more choices during the shoot and allow for spontaneity.
