I’M LESLIE AND I LOVE PHOTOGRAPHY
I studied photography in London back in the days of film and darkrooms and it became my passion. Over the years I have worked with many genres but I found my niche as a portrait photographer.
As you see from the many smiling and laughing faces in my portrait photography portfolio, a photo session with me is a fun and enjoyable experience. Photography has an amazing power to make people feel good.
I cannot count the number of people who have sat in front of my camera, as if they were in a dentist’s chair and told me that they are not photogenic only to finish the session laughing and later telling me that the photos I delivered were amazing.
A hairdresser admired one of my photos the other day and said to me, “you must have a great camera!” I looked at the hair of the client in her chair and replied, “And you must have a great pair of scissors!”
Practice and experience are everything. Now, several hundred thousand photos since those early days, I think I’m starting to get the hang of it.

This small selection of images is here to show you that even though I am a portrait photographer, I love taking pictures and always have a camera with me! They show how I think visually and a little bit of range outside the work that I am normally hired to do. I live on a small island and sometimes people come to me with work outside the usual remit as a portrait photographer and if it looks fun or challenging, I’ll probably eagerly jump in.
